Celina Jaitley Attends Gay Rally

February 20th, 2009

While many celebrities in Bollywood silently support gay and lesbian rights, Celina is perhaps one of the few who go out of their way to personally hobnob with them.

The actress was recently seen at a gay rally, interacting with supporters. Celina even organized a party for gays, and had great fun wearing a golden wig and enjoying herself with her friends.

Celina claims that since gays and lesbians are humans too, there is nothing wrong with interacting with them. Their sexual preference is personal and should be respected as such. She also believes that it is unfair of the authorities to raid gay parties and punish those attending the same.

Celina feels homosexuality is not a crime, and points out that it has been legalized in many countries. What's more, they are even allowed to marry in other countries, so why the unfair treatment in India, she wants to know.

February 17th, 2009

For Celina Jaitley, after attending a Valentine Day event for celebrating the virtuousness of love at Delhi, the trip back to Mumbai started off with a tinge of hate.

The Bollywood babe got the shock of her life when she discovered that her precious possessions kept in the hand bag had been damaged after being checked by the airport officials.

Celina's costly iPod and Blackberry phone were found to be having scratches and some other belongings were also damaged. This incident has resulted in the B-Town babe getting terribly disgruntled with the attitude, behaviour and work ethics of the men who did the damage.

Celina says "It was heart breaking to see my stuff in a bad shape. These guys do not know how to behave with women. I went up to the officer in charge and all he could say was "Sorry". They also told me in no uncertain terms that they cannot repair what was broken. Moreover, the guys who did it were grinning in front of him. What a shame. Someone ought to teach these cops how to behave with women".

Celina alleges rude behaviour in Delhi

February 17th, 2009

Celina Jaitley says she had a harrowing experience with the airport authorities in New Delhi when she was going through the security check for her morning flight to Mumbai.

In the city for a special Valentine event , Celina went through body frisking and her belongings being scanned. However, she was shocked after realising that her expensive state of art iPod and Blackberry were scratched while quite a few other things in her bag were broken.

"I agree that authorities there are doing their duty and we too are completely cooperating with the security measures. It is for our own benefit and I understand that we should comply with them. However, who gives them the right to mishandle things belonging to others? It was heartbreaking to see my stuff in a bad shape. Both my iPod as well as Blackberry have lost their sheen due to callous attitude of men who were doing the scan," Celina said.

Worse, the cops who were apparently responsible for the damage, were found smiling even as Celina was complaining against them.

"These guys don't know how to behave with women. I went up to the officer in charge and all he could say was 'Sorry'? Also, they told me in no uncertain terms that they couldn't repair what was broken. Moreover, the guys who did it were grinning in front of him. What a shame! Someone ought to teach these cops how to behave with women", she said.

It wasn't just the material loss that angered Celina. During the same time, she also saw an old female passenger being pushed around. When she approached the officer in charge, all she got from him was a casual 'sorry'.

Celina is thinking of approaching higher authorities and apprise them about what transpired with her at the airport.

"I was not only angry with them for breaking my stuff but for their misbehaviour with other women. They are there to protect us and not to humiliate, insult and manhandle us, especially women. They are misusing the power of uniform everywhere now-a-days. At the end of the day we are paying passengers and they can't break our things, insult us and indulge in indecent behaviour," she said.

Though there wasn't any major showdown at the airport post Celina's outburst, women around her were certainly appreciative about her courage to voice her displeasure.

"True, the women there were thanking me and one of them even said that I did what they couldn't have possibly done in fear. Well, nice to hear this as a compliment, but my request to all womenfolk out there is - 'Fight for yourself and raise your voice in events like this'. Till the time we don't come out in open and let the authorities know that they are there to help us and not harass us, such shameful things would continue to happen."

Celina’s inspired by Kareena

January 21st, 2009

Kareena Kapoor impressed one-and-all with her weight loss, so much so that she has got most of her co-actors turn obsessive and addictive about their weight and fitness regimes.

That’s another thing that Bebo is now on an indulgent spree, what with producers wanting her to put on some healthy weight for her roles.

But while shooting Golmaal Returns Kareena inspired best friend Amrita Arora to shed some kilos, and then it was the light-eyed Celina Jaitley who wanted to be ‘babe’, too. She said, “Both Kareena and Amrita used do 108 suryanamaskars everyday. I have no idea how they used to do it. I used to be panting after 35 and they used to motivate me to carry on. But I continue doing suryanamaskars to this day.” Well, the results are for all to see and Celina’s fans for sure are not complaining, right Celina?

Celina Jaitley goes bold and brazen

January 12th, 2009

Ex Miss India Celina Jaitley has been trying hard for long to make it to the A-list in B-Town. But to avail.

All she’s managed is multi-starer films and unsubstantial roles.

But now we hear she’s trying to emulate Rani Mukerji. Considering the fact that Rani too is a passé too now, it seems to be a rather odd decision though.

She’s supposedly playing a role, which is a mix of glamour and realism, very similar to Rani’s character in ‘Laaga Chunari Mein Daag’.

She will go fully bold and play a stripper in a flick titled ‘Showman’.

She says, “I play a half-English and half-Indian girl, who comes from very poor family in London. She grows up to be a stripper in a nightclub and a con-artist.”

We wonder how that’s similar to Rani’s character in ‘Laaga Chunari Mein Daag’. Well, the fate of the film and the movie seems to be already out in the open.

Celina Jaitley at London’s ‘City Pavilion’ Bash

January 9th, 2009

The City Pavilion in Romford (London) hosted one of the most spectacular New Year events for 2008. Amazing food, wine, cocktails and entertainment filled this 007 themed night.

Bollywood Princess Celina Jaitley, India’s latest award winner playback singer Javed Ali, and UK’s own very talented Rishi Rich and project of, DJ Krash, H-Dhami, Mumsy, Veronica and Tasha Tah rocked an amazing night hosted by Ameet Channa.

In true 007 fashion, people who attended this sell out night saw the beautiful Celina Jaitley arrive in a sleek Aston Martin in true Bond Style, wearing a very elegant evening gown. Celina spoke and interacted with the guests at the lavish event before counting down to midnight and seeing in the New Year.

Celina added “I felt like James Bond. It was a black tie event with the women dressed in gowns. I did the countdown to the accompaniment of Bond’s signature tune with a gigantic confetti-filled crystal ball- as seen in his films - being busted to the tunes of Happy New Year. At such events you realize the reach of Bollywood it was great to interact with the Hindi-Movie buffs. The night and event was amazing, and as always London and the people are so warm, loving and supportive.”

She said 2008 was a good year but ended with sadness after the Mumbai attacks. In 2009 she revealed she hopes to get her pilots license and spoke of some of new and exciting film projects.

Javed Ali performed live with his band, and after midnight DJ Krash, Rishi Rich and project took over ending with H-Dhami making everyone dance till they drop in the venues banqueting main suite.

Rishi Mashru MD of The Millennium Group and City Pavilion said “it an evening people will remember, and that was the whole idea”. The venue is set on three floors with other suites and state of the art lighting and sound as well as restaurants and bowling alleys.

Zaf Mughal of Carving Dreams Entertainment added “all the artistes gave it their all and it really showed.”

Rishi and Zaf have a number of similar exciting events planned for 2009.

Celina Jaitley turns stripper in ‘Showman’

January 9th, 2009

She kicked off with a bold role of a pole dancer in her debut film, Janasheen and now once again this glam doll will be seen in quite a bold role. Celina plays a stripper in night club in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s forthcoming film Showman.

Though it’s not a surprise for her fans, Celina has always been playing glamorous roles. Speaking about her role she says, “I am playing half English and half Indian girl. She is daughter of an English man who’s married to an Indian woman. This girl unfortunately comes from a very poor family background in London. She is grown up to be a stripper in night club and a con artist. She just forces people to make money out of them. Basically her main aim is to own a night club so she is pretending to be a stripper.”

It can be recalled that Celina played a pole dancer in her debut film. “Yeah but there I was a cop who pretends to be a pole dancer. I was an undercover cop. Everyone comes to know at the end of the movie that I am an undercover cop. And here I am again pretending to be a stripper but not one actually I am just trying to get all the girls to work for my club.”

Apart from Celina it stars Govinda, Celina and Rimi Sen in main leads. It’s produced by Reel Life Productions. This film has been shot in UK.

Celina turns Stripper!

Celina Jaitley's acting skills have always been debatable. In short, in most of her films she's played the dumb bimbo.

All the films where she's been the only leading lady (like 'Janasheen' and 'Khel') have flopped miserably.

Multi -starrers like 'No Entry' and the recent 'Golmaal Returns' have done well but there have also been really terrible ones (with an ensemble cast) of the 'Tom Dick and Harry', 'Shaka Laka Boom Boom', 'Money Hai to Honey Hai' kinds. These horrible fares have only strengthened the belief that she can't act!

So the lady is busy cashing in on her USP-dropping clothes.

The ex Miss India is doing a bold act in the upcoming 'Showman'. Celina maintains that she loves playing glamorous roles.

The film by Reel Life Productions which is extensively shot in the UK also stars Govinda and Rimi Sen. This looks like one of those mindless films with loads of senseless dhamaal.

She apparently plays a night club stripper in the movie.

She has reportedly been bragging about her role, "I am playing this girl born to an English man and Indian woman. She unfortunately comes from a very poor family background in London. She has grown up to be a stripper in a night club and a con artist. Basically her main aim is to own a night club."

She maintains that it's very different from her pole dancing act in 'Janasheen'.

She says, "There I was a cop who pretends to be a pole dancer. Everyone comes to know at the end of the movie that I am an undercover cop. And here I am again pretending to be a stripper but not one actually. I am just trying to get all the hot girls to work for my club."

Only if this dame had learnt from her mistakes and invested her earnings in an acting course, she could have at least made things a little easier for poor viewers
