Amrita Arora is getting married on March 6, and Kareena Kapoor’s all set for her best friend’s wedding.

Why not? We heard Bebo will be Ammu’s bridesmaid. Kareena is trying to take out time from her tight schedule to help the bride. Not just that. Bebo herself has made the rounds to the best stores in town and
co-ordinated with the best fashion designers to design her gown. Although, Amrita will be the maiden of the night, we are eager to watch Kareena in her ‘gown’ing glory!

Amrita, Malaika reveal all

Mumbai: It promises to be the wedding of the season. No wonder then bride-to-be Amrita Arora and the rest of her bridal party have roped in some of the best Indian designers to create outfits for them.

First up, the vintage white gown designed by Ashley Rebello, one of Amrita's closest pals. "She wants a vintage gown, so that's exactly what I'm making for her. A long lace gown, with a high neck, which flairs from the hips. In fact, I'm flying down to Paris on the 10th to buy the lace for the gown which will either be Christian Dior or Karl Lagerfeld," reveals Ashle

The bridesmaids -- Amrita's sister Malaika Khan, best friend Kareena Kapoor and close friend Mallika Bhat -- will be in peach Grecian-inspired gowns. "There will be absolutely no skin show for the church wedding as I certainly don't want any one of them to be shown the door by the priest," laughs Ashley, who is also designing an emerald green and maroon ghagara for Amrita and a chikan pathani for the groom Shakeel Ladakh for the Nikah ceremony.

However, the two sisters haven't just restricted themselves to one designer. Vikram Phadnis is apparently designing some outfits for them for some wedding-related events.

And they also met up with Delhi-based Shantanu & Nikhil and got several outfits made for the different functions. "We've made this very avant garde lehenga for Amrita, which is made of old silk brocade sarees with a wide off-shoulder blouse," informs Nikhil.

The church wedding is on March 4. According to sources, Salman's sister Alvira Agnihotri is hosting the mehendi and sangeet at Salman's residence. The nikaah will be on March 6 as Amrita's would-be husband is a Muslim.

A friend says, "It's a relief that all the functions are being held in Bandra itself." Amrita will not be converting to Islam as nor did big sis Malaika after trying the knot with Arbaaz. The couple are not planning an immediate honeymoon as Amrita will be shooting from March 9. However, later they plan to honeymoon in Paris or LA.

Amrita Arora is marrying boyfriend Shakeel Ladhak in March and the preparations are on in full swing.

The celebrations are scheduled to take place over three days: There will be a church wedding on March 4, a sangeet on March 5 and the nikaah and reception on March 6. Preceding these will be a party for close friends on March 1.

Best friend Kareena Kapoor is going to be one of the bridesmaids and sister Malaika Arora, the maid of honour.

Ashley Rebello is designing her wedding gown as well as the clothes for the bridesmaids. The mehendi outfit will be by Manish Malhotra and Shantanu-Nikhil are designing the traditional wedding lehenga.

Nandana Sen’s bonding with Amrita Arora

But there’s some maha female bonding happening between Nandana Sen and Amrita Arora on the sets of Seasons Greetings. In fact Amrita reminded Nandana of Goldie Hawn. “Amrita’s oomph brought Goldie Hawn’s earlier roles to my mind. Amu is a totally chilled out and fun to work with–and not at all like the imperious diva she plays in the film! As for me I play this simple girl next door whose nose is sunk in a book, But she has an open heart and uncontrollably wild side,” said Nandana Sen.

Amrita Arora going to do marriage with Shakeel Ladak

The buzz is that Bollywood gorgeous actress Amrita Arora has finally decided to get married with her new boyfriend Shakeel Ladak on March 6, 2009.

A source reveals, “The wedding date is March 6 and it will be a grand marriage. The mehendi ceremony will be on 4th march and the sangeet ceremony on March 5. Amrita Arora wanted that her marriage should be in a church, therefore marriage will be in a church on 6th March. However church is yet to be decided.”

He further added, “Amrita is preparing the list of marriage guests but her favorite star Shahrukh Khan will not attend the wedding function as he does not see Salman Khan eye to eye.”

Amrita’s elder sister Malaika Arora is extremely busy in marriage preparations and she has selected her suit for wedding. Amrita Arora has not finalized her suit and it is learnt that she has many friends who are designers but she is uncertain about whom she should give her consent to design marriage gown.

SRK to miss out Amrita Arora's wedding

Bollywood babe Amrita Arora is going to tie the knot with businessman Shakeel Ladak and she is busy in the preparation. One of the important tasks of wedding is to prepare the guest list which Amrita is deciding now. Though the date is not yet fixed, Amrita is putting down on pen and paper the names of her guests. One of the dear friends of Amrita will willingly give the wedding a miss as he does not want to invite any jhakda on this important occasion and the person is question is Shahrukh Khan.

Though Salman and Shahrukh shared a bitter relation, Amrita had always been part of Shahrukh’s party. If not Shahrukh, Gauri will definitely be part of Amrita's wedding.

Says the source close to the bride-to-be, "Amu has always held Shah Rukh great regard for SRK and she is keen that Shah Rukh attend the wedding. Amu personally called to invite him. Apparently, the actor voiced his concern about bumping into Salman and causing a tense situation on her special day."

Amrita refused to comment on the issue, "I can't comment on this. I haven't yet decided my wedding date, so where's the question of inviting anyone?"

AMRITA WELCOMES ‘09 IN DUBAI

After a little family gathering at Goa in December, the most talked about couple in Bollywood - the lovely damsel Amrita Arora and her beau Shakeel welcomed 2009 in Dubai. After painting the city red, the couple wanted to spend some time alone in each other’s company so they headed off to a place where they cannot be disturbed. Amrita says, "It was spontaneous actually. We did not plan it. It was the first time that I just didn’t know where I am going on New Year’s Eve as all my friends were scattered in different direction. So instead, Shakeel just suggested that we spend some time alone in Dubai and the plan was made just then and there. And though I’ve been to Dubai a number of times, the fun really is in planning things on a spur of the moment and taking off."

Shakeel Ladak wants Amrita Arora to stop doing stage shows

This is as serious as it can get. Amrita Arora's fiance Shakeel Ladak whisked away her for a romantic getaway to Dubai in the last week of December.

The actress has been performing at New Year's Eve shows for the last four years. This year, though, she decided to spend it with her man.

Since the duo are gearing up to get hitched soon, she now wants to cut down on her shows. Shakeel doesn't approve of his girl gyrating at public shows.

Most actresses do shows because it is quick money. But Amu's rich beau feels there is no need for her to do shows. Like her best friend Kareena Kapoor, Amrita is also bowing down to the diktats of her boyfriend.

So this year, the Arora girl took a break instead and brought in 2009 with cousins in Dubai with a few friends.'
