Mohit Lalwani gets eliminated from Indian Idol

January 12th, 2009

It was most unexpected. But shocking results have become the norm on Indian Idol. The three contestants standing in the bottom three this week were the most talented Bhavya Pandit, the good-looking and talented Mohit Lalwani and Bhanupratap. Bhanu’s performances have been off color in the past few weeks. While Annu Mallik’s blue-eyed girl Bhavya has been working against all odds to prove her worth. Mohit has always won accolades for his performances. But when Bhanu was declared safe this week, the choice was like choosing between the devil and the deep sea.

It was not Mohit’s day. The music graduate from Ramjas College, Delhi bid good bye to the Indian Idol stage after making a remarkable return in the Wild Card Entry. But it is not good bye to music and singing he promised. He promises to be back in Mumbai and along with his best buddy Prasenjit Kosambi he hopes to do some great work in music. Meanwhile he is going to pray hard that Prasenjit wins the title this year. Great dosti going on here…

Stay tuned to Indian Idol to watch the journey on Top 8 contestants every Friday - Saturday on Sony Entertainment Television.

‘Jugaad’ doesn’t fly for Pakistani singer Adeel

January 12th, 2009

It seems that no amount of ‘Jugaad’ can really help Adeel, a singer from Pakistani, who finds himself completely cornered out in Bollywood. One of the songs that he sung for the film Jugaad has been completely scrapped from and won’t find any place in either the promotional campaign or the final cut. This comes in the wake of 26/11 terror attack in which Pakistan has been accused of being involved. The current tension between the two countries hasn’t even spared the artists from across the boundaries as a result of which an obviously bitter and upset Adeel finds himself in a tight spot.

“I had worked extra hard on the song, ‘Kise Awaz Dun’ as well as it’s promotional video for Jugaad. After the terror attack, I could see this coming but still when I was informed about the altogether scrapping of the song, I indeed felt quite bad”, says Adeel who wasn’t even invited for the music launch of Jugaad that was held on 2nd January.

Producer Sandiip Kapur doesn’t regret scrapping the song and the music video even after investing quite a lot on it’s recording and shoot, “Keeping in mind the sentiments of people and the general mood in the country, we decided to scrap the music video and not to give any extra attention to the song ‘Kise Awaz Dun’. We had signed Adeel about an year back because he is very handsome and it looked like a very good marketing activity for the film. However, Jugaad would have to do without him now.”

Buzz has it that even though Adeel repeatedly tried calling Sandiip Kapur, the producer refused to invite the singer to Mumbai for the music launch. Some other Pakistani artists who have faced the axe after the terror attack are singer Ghulam Ali and comedians Shakeel Siddiqui and Kashif.

JUGAAD is based on the sealing drive by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi that had happened a few months back. Shot at various locations in Delhi and Gurgaon, the film is the real life story of its producer Sandiip Kapur. Starring Manoj Bajpai, Hrishita Bhatt, Vijay Raz, Sanjay Misra and debutant Nitin Arora, Jugaad is the voice of struggle of a successful CEO who wants to survive and restart his life from a scratch. None of his ‘Jugaad’ and connections work in his favor to save him from complete devastation.

A film which is a combination of loss, pain and comical satire, Jugaad is directed by Aanand Kumar (DELHI HEIGHTS) with music by Sachin Gupta, screenplay & dialogues by Bunty Rathore & Priyaank Dube and cinematography by Prem Anand. It’s produced under the banner of Promodome Films.

Namitha at VIP Store Launch Event

January 10th, 2009

Namitha, the statuesque Hot symbol of the South Indian film industry, commands just as much respect as the top heroines. The largest luggage manufacturer in Asia and leading manufacturer of affordable, quality luggage is VIP. Namitha inaugurated the flagship VIP Lounge on Dr. Radhakrishnan Salai (better known as Cathedral Road), Chennai today.

At the function, Mr. Sudhir Jatla, Managing Director, VIP Industries Ltd., said that luggage and travel accessories are as much a style statement and status symbol as one’s clothes and accesories. And who better to inaugurate the store than Namitha, who exudes style and is the definitive symbol of ‘oomph’ and glamour. Though her onscreen image is somewhat limited, this tall beauty has another side to her. Recently she asked her fans to pledge to donate their organs after death. A very thoughtful message indeed!

Vidya Balan Causes Traffic Jam

January 10th, 2009

No, she's not bad behind the wheel, it's just that Vidya Balan's enthusiastic ways can be a distraction for other motorists.

Recently, Vidya spotted director Raj Kumar Hirani at the Carter Road promenade in Bandra while she was in her car. The actress immediately rolled down the glass of her window and called out to the director. But Raju failed to notice her. Vidya then stopped her car and got down to meet him. And with that she brought the traffic to a standstill too!

Review 1
The director Prabhu deva is brain drained with absolutely no story. The movie has its typical masalas - tiring fights and dances. The comedy sucks! Its time Vadivelu sheds some lbs before he can see himself on another movie. Nayan can do a better job just walking around with Victoria secret undergarments than barely dressing up and trying to act. Her facial expressions are horrible especially in dances and when she tries to say a dialogue. How long she can continue to just expose herself without even making an attempt to act. She can try that in different kind of movies, probably doubling her salary. Its time movies like this should be totally boycotted so actors stop bankrupting more producers. If at all, let them gamble with their own investments. Surprised how Vijay is lucky to be even among the top tamil actors. Wonder if at all the actors get to watch their own movie after completion even once. The movie is a total WASTE of time & money..

Review 2
Villu is one the horriable movie I ever watched recently. Just by showing stuts, dance and same old masala formula they can't fool us..

Prabhu deva better do some good movie not just doing some mass movies which sucks..

There is no story line. not screen play.. We have seen old scripts many many many times.. Pathatic.

If vijay continues this formula he will be the one of the biggest lossers.. like Ajith.

Vijay can dance good and act.. but he contiues to do movies like this he soon will be out of the market..

Nayanthra she can be stippers.. she hardly wear any dress which is good for eyes.. she wears dresses like roadside hookers. Do some good stuff.. People will like it. Not just doing skin show.. One of songs which shot in germany where dance with white models is horrible.. she looks very dark..She will have think twice before signing any other movies..

Vadivalu jokes are OOKAAY.. Not very bad. But not very good.

Overall movie not good and its sucks

Review 3
Villu , i watch the 2nd show in Malaysia. Review is the movie is a 3-star rated movie.

The hero : gud dance movement and provide a level of gud entertainment at the 1st half of the movie

the heroin - bad acting , too much skin shown , poor lips movement for song lyrics

both hero and heroin doesn’t not have a screen chemistry ( trisha and asin suit better for vijay )

the director - please get a good story and put sum thought into it, don’t direct a movie just for the sake of directing

the editor - very poor editing , looks like a school kid assignment ( cut n paste )

Screen play - there was non

movie, 1st half was okay .. a bit fun with vadivello and couple of the comedians.

2nd half - gud location at Thailand and Swiss.

climax – poor , dumb and absurd

- unnecessary mother sentiments , father sentiment and a stupid flash back.

a stronger screenplay and a much better climax shud made the movie better.

(review better then Kuruvi and ATM and worth watching once , and pls note some of the bloopers on the movie ... eg : once of the dancers dancing with a torn pants and etc )

An entertaining masala mix , with poor story board , editing and screen play , with some extent of humor.
