SL to roll out red carpet for ‘Victory’

This is one victory that Colombo will claim on Friday. Over Dubai, of course.

For the first time, the world premier of a Hindi movie, Victory, is being held in Colombo on Friday evening after the venue was changed from Dubai to Colombo.

The plush Regal theatre was chosen following the green signal to the India-Sri Lanka one-day series. It is also being seen as one of the biggest events in the entertainment industry here.

The movie, shot extensively in Sri Lanka, starring Harman Baweja, Amrita Rao, Anupam Kher, Gulshan Grover and 60 Indian and international cricketers, is about a boy from Rajasthan making it big in the world of cricket.

The Lankan ministries of sports, tourism and foreign affairs assisted the film crew during the shooting, which was done at grounds in Colombo and indoor stadiums in the suburbs.

The Indian team along with the Sri Lankan players will be part of the premier. Australian fast bowler Brett Lee and former team-mate Shane Warne are also expected as is actress Priyanka Chopra along with several stars.

“We thought Colombo would be the perfect venue for the premier because the Indian cricketers are here,” said a spokesperson of Event Concept, the event management company. “It is also a very important step in strengthening relations between the two countries,” he added.

Hindi movies are popular in Colombo and currently Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Ghajini are running to packed houses.

Priyanka Chopra ditches Nach Baliye!

Mumbai, Actress Priyanka Chopra, who was supposed to appear on the dance-based reality show ‘Nach Baliye’, has ditched the show after confirming that she would show up.

The actress has reportedly chosen to support her mother instead, saying that she means more to her. Priyanka’s mum, Madhu, had to prepare for the opening of her cosmetic surgery clinic, Madhu’s Studio Aesthetic, in Juhu. The launch may take place sometime next month.

Grapevine has it that another reason of her sudden ‘no’ to ‘Nach Baliye’ is Amrita Rao. When she learnt that Amrita will also be present on the same episode, she became too apprehensive as she alone wanted to grace the episode.

Priyanka had to grace the show as a guest judge for Friday’s episode. But since she backed out at the last minute, guess, Amrita will get an opportunity to steal the show.

Problems already in Harman-Amrita friendship?

Till recently the news was that Priyanka Chopra and Harman Baweja broke up because of his closeness to ‘Victory’ co-star Amrita Rao.

Good girl Amrita of course denied the rumors. She and Priyanka were even spotted bonding.

The latest is that she used to be good friends with Harman but now is pretty upset with him.

The petite dame thinks he’s hogging all the limelight during the pre-release promotional campaign of their movie. She also apparently got the shocking news that it was Harman who sneaked out details about their growing friendship to get more attention.

Well, we understand that Harman is desperate to make his next movie work after his ambitious futuristic film flopped. But why make Amrita suffer for the same?

But the girl also is not taking things lying down anymore.

She thinks he’s been doing a lot of manipulation and has conveyed her displeasure to the producers.

They have got the message and must have realized that Harman is doing a lot of self promotion and has asked him to slow it down.

Well, this cherubic dame can be fiery if there’s a need. Hope Harman got the message too.

Harman Baweja and Amrita Rao in Love?

The big news doing the rounds is that Priyanka Chopra and boyfriend Harman Baweja have broken up.

But the bigger news is that Harman has got closer to his ‘Victory’ co-star Amrita Rao.

So much so that they find it very hard to spend time apart.

The inside info is that they got close while shooting and that’s why there’s a rift between Harman and Priyanka.

Harman and Priyanka are shooting for ‘What’s Your Rashee’.

According to close sources, Amrita drops in to meet Harman there too.

The source says, “Amrita drops in on the sets of ‘What’s Your Rashee’ and then both Harman and Amrita leave together to hang out at a café. Amrita and Harman get along very well. He might be on the sets with Priyanka, but he often chats endlessly on the phone with Amrita. That’s not all!.Harman has also been sending flowers to Amrita, when both of them are not together. Priyanka Chopra is aware of this blossoming camaraderie.”

Reportedly they go out together in the presence of Priyanka but strangely the desi girl is quiet about it. God alone knows what’s on earth she’s thinking. Maybe she wants to be over Harman soon too.

But as of now another big question is whether being with Hrithik clone Harman is good for good girl Amrita as well. We’ll have to wait and watch.

Not far , just few weeks back she almost seen no where , but in last few days she is the main spot light of media. Now talking about “Victory“ which is an upcoming film Amrita Rao and Harman Baweja. Harman is trying hard to make his mark to bollywood. He look like very similar to Hritik but that is not enough, he has to seen some acting skills also. Lets see whats happen with this movie. Music of the movie has been launched by Amrita and Harman. At the occassion cricketer Harbhajan Singh, Ashutosh Gowarikar, Anu Malik, Tushar Kapoor and Arjun Bajwa were present.

Amrita Rao ousts Priyanka Chopra from Harman’s life?

Mumbai, Dec 27: After the news of Priyanka Chopra-Shahid Kapur’s intriguing intimacy on the sets of their forthcoming film ‘Kaminey’, another bit of gossip has been picked up by our reliable sources.

Buzz has it that Amrita Rao has turned the‘Harman-Priyanka-Shahid’ triangular love story to a rectangular one by adding another romantic angle. While girlfriend Priyanka was busy romancing Shahid, the Baweja scion took a fancy to delicate darling Amrita Rao during the shoot of ‘Victory’.

Amrita and Harman were shooting for their upcoming film, ‘Victory’ and clicked together pretty well. According to a source, “Harman and Amrita hit it off from the beginning. They would talk to each other all the time and they even started meeting after the shoots. Harman took her out for dinner at the famous Handi restaurant in Jaipur. They also started doing workouts together.”

Grapevine has it that even after finishing the shoot, the two have kept in constant touch. “One day, Harman suddenly decided to send a bouquet of yellow flowers to Amrita. Then, another day Amrita visited Harman on the sets of his film, Ashutosh Gowariker’s ‘What’s Your Rashee’. After the shoot, they travelled back together in Amrita’s car,” a source said.

Guess, Harman-Priyanka are just ‘good friends’ now!

Amrita Rao - Behenji gets a sexy makeover

In the world of the Kanganas and the Katrinas, it's difficult for a girl with a simple and sweet image like Amrita Rao to hold her own.

Even actresses who started off as girls next door like Minissha Lamba are trying hard for a super sexy makeover.

But Amrita Rao is doing well, her own way. This, inspite of being criticized time and again for being a behenji. After playing a convincing teen in 'Main Hoon Na' and a few flops later, she went ahead and turned simple and sweet for 'Vivaah' and the well made 'Welcome to Sajjanpur'.

In between there was a slightly sexy makeover for 'My name is Anthony Gonsalves' which didn't do her a world of good since the movie tanked. People seem to like Amrita only sweet and simple.

Now the lass is getting a chance to star with Amitabh Bachchan in Chandraprakash Dwivedi's next flick.

She'll be playing Arjun Rampal's wife and Tabu and Amitabh Bachchan's daughter-in-law in his upcoming film, 'The Legend of Kunal'.

According to the director, it is a very difficult role for Amrita. Though Tabu plays the central character, Amrita is very important to the central drama. Tabu portrays trishna (thirst), whereas Amrita shows purity and honesty.

It was Mrs Jaya Bachchan who suggested Amrita's name for the role of Kanchanmala. And since she's both delicate and strong and can stand up against a powerful Tabu, she's being rightly cast.

Now that's lots of praise for the young actress. Should we say inspiration for the few simple girls of B-Town?
