Minissha Lamba replaces pregnant Tara Sharma

Bollywood actress Tara Sharma was supposed to do Rensil D'Silva's untitled project with Saif and Kareena but excited Tara had to opt out due to her pregnancy. Reports of her pregnancy came only after she had signed the project. Her pregnancy proved as a blessing for Minissha Lamba. Now she will enact Tara's role. Tara informed the makers about what she is going through and they just let her go.

A source reveals, "Tara was very excited about working in the Saif-Kareena-Vivek starrer, but on realizing she was pregnant, she opted out. The schedule was to be shot in December in New York but due to technical issues, was postponed to May. Tara is due in July and has been advised not to travel in the last few months of her pregnancy."

Tara confirms, "I'm not doing Rensil's movie. I was really looking forward to it but I am also looking forward to my motherhood. Karan and Rensil were very understanding and were happy for Roopak and me and I hope to work with them in the future."

Though Tara was little upset for letting the offer go by, she at the same time more then happy to conceive. "It is a wonderful feeling and I'm already loving it. Right now, I'm moving around without any trouble. But I guess I'll have to take care and not travel much in the coming months”, Tara said.

Tara got married to Roopak Saluja on November 23, 2007.

Minissha Lamba's opening act for Stardust Awards

MUMBAI: Minissha Lamba is on cloud nine. The actress will be doing the opening act at the Stardust Awards that will be held in Mumbai on 15 February.

She will be flying in from Hyderabad a day before the ceremony, where she is shooting for Shyam Benegal's Abba Ka Kuan.

Lamba said, "After three years I will be performing to my own songs as I did not have any personal commercial songs. I will be doing a Salsa number on Pyar Ki Yeh Kahani and a hip hop number on my Haiya and Mausam songs from Kidnap."

Rajiv Surti has choreographed her dances while her outfits will be designed by Rocky S. She had performed earlier in the year at the Sabse Favourite Kaun Awards. Prior to her departure to Hyderabad, Lamba was busy with her rehearsals.

She said, "I have been practicing everyday for 3-4 hours. I have bruises on my knees, which I affectionately call them my war marks. But its growth at the end of the day and for me to do the opening act is a great honour."

Is something going on between Yuvraaj and Minissha?

The growing buzz in Mumbai is that Hot babe Minissha lamba and cricketer Yuvraj singh are the hottest couple in the country.
An eyewitness blogs that the two were actually locking lips at Aurus, a restaurant and lounge bar in juhu. A source close to the actress says she wasn't even in town when the said incident took place.

However, highly placed sources at Aurus confirm that the two often come to the place and stay all night over dinner and a bit of PDA. "They have come here quite often for dinner and stayed till early morning. They lok like any other couple in love, holding hands, gazing into each other's eyes. Our staff and guests were quite stunned to see them at ease in public, but they didn't seem to care," said a source.

Minissha Lamba’s rustic touch

Minissha Lamba will soon be seen donning the role of a village belle for Shyam Benegal next film, tentatively titled ‘Abba Ka Kaun’, a father-daughter story where she plays Boman Iraani’s daughter in the film.

The role is such that in the film she is required to speak in a dialect called Dakini to lend an authentic touch to her character.

Muses the pretty actress, “Considering that I have never been in a village in my life, now I play a character that is village bred”

Well knowing how thoroughly Minissha prepares for her role, be it the rigorous 8 month training for the fabulous toned body in ‘Kidnap’ or adopting a dialect to give an authentic look, Minissha sure leaves no stone unturned to give the perfect touch.

Star cricketer Yuvraj Singh seems to be mad about Bollywood beauties, as the cricketer has dated many of them. First there was Kim Sharma. Then there was Deepika and now it seems the dashing cricketer has Minissha Lamba on his mind. The two were spotted at the posh nightclub Aurus in Juhu recently.

According to a source, people were quite surprised to see them together as Minishha has been spotted with her boyfriend Suhail Rathore.

The actress has currently been in the news for allegedly going under the knife. Yuvraj too has been in Mumbai and trying his hand at comedy shows and making his presence felt at various filmi dos.

Minishha Lamba, who has always claimed to be single is said to be dating actor Suhail Rathore. But it seems Minishha has changed her mind and has choosen cricket over Bollywood.

Minissha slams surgery rumours

Mumbai, Jan 24: Minissha Lamba has lately been targeted with rumours of going under the knife for those curves. She became a short lived eye-candy with her bare-dare underwater sequences in ‘Kidnap’, but the efforts have bounced back. Her hourglass figure is in question, and Lamba is not enjoying it a bit.

“Anyone says anything they want to!” Minissha fumed.

Cosmetic corrections had taken the wrong turn for Bollywood actor Koena Mitra, but that disaster was more physical than mental.

However, Minissha’s predicament seems self invited after her decision to go for a radical image-makeover from good to saucy. Anyway, she knows best about cutting truths like these!

Drunken guy misbehaves with Minissha Lamba?

Minissha Lamba’s birthday party was spoilt by a bottle-hitter who got too drunk to keep his behaviour in check.

Bollywood’s cute babe Minissha Lamba turned a year older on Sunday and threw a bash at Royal Palms at Goregaon. Her close friends and a few family members were invited to the party.

Among the guests was a twenty-something guy who had reportedly come with one of the guests. Once the party was in full swing, the said guy downed a few drinks and became the party spoiler.

According to reports, after having his fill, the guy began acting overenthusiastic and attracted a lot of attention. He even tried getting too close to Minissha. In fact, reports say he tried acting fresh with the actress.

Minissha’s protective brother Karan Lamba, who was also at the party, took the drunken guy aside and tried to put some sense back to his tipsy head. But the guy was probably too sloshed out to check his behaviour.

Ultimately he had to be thrown out of the party.

Minissha has confirmed the incident but she says it was a one-off incident that she prefers to forget.

Minissha gets surgery done on her nose

Word around town was that cinematic genius Shyam Benegal had once again approached Amrita Rao after Welcome to Sajjanpur to play the lead in his next venture and that Amrita had refused Mr. Benegal. Now that does sound like an absolute death wish for an actress to reject a director like Shyam Benegal, but we are glad to report that our very smart Amrita did no such thing. On the contrary, she thinks of Welcome To Sajjanpur as the highest point in her career and wouldn't do such a thing to Mr. Benegal even in her dreams. What the news headlines had not captured was that it was in fact Minissha Lamba who was offered the role in the first place and not Amrita. Minissha being the clever young lady she is jumped at the opportunity of a lifetime and is now on board this prestigious project titled Abba Ka Kua.

Well Minissha fans, looks like the girl is on an ultimate high. After finally making a mark in main stream cinema with Bachna Ae Haseeno and the not so successful Kidnap, things are finally lighting up for the talented girl and we simply couldn't be happier!

Shyam Benegal choses Minissha Lamba for his next movie

One saw her last in her most glamorous role till date in Kidnap few months back, In a complete contrast to it now, Minissha will be seen in a very rustic village girl role in Shyam Benegal’s next. The acclaimed filmmaker has roped her for the main female lead in his next, tentatively titled, Abba Ka Kuan. She will play Boman Irani’s daughter in the film. The film is being produced by Reliance Big Entertainment. This will be Shyam Benegal’s next comic venture after the success of Welcome To Sajjanpur. Boman Irani plays a double role in the film.

Benegal tells us, “It is a comedy, it is also a satire. It is a little more political than what my last film was and I hope it will be very funny. The main part is of Boman Irani. He is a wonderful actor” informed the director recently. This is a story close to the heart of Benegal since it will be shot in his home town Hyderabad. Boman of course is very excited with the project.”

Minissha Lamba is mighty pleased the way her career graph is spiralling upwards. The actress has had a success like Bachna Ae Haseeno recently. “I have been selective about what I do but yes, I am satisfied with the way my career has been shaping up. I have always believed in an upward graph at the box office. I always wanted it to be slow and my career is indeed winding from better to the best.” Looking back at her career she says, “I had nobody in the industry. I just fought my way up here. I have been very selective and am not doing films for the heck of it.”

When Minissha Lamba was told that she would have to wear a bikini for a key sequence in 'Kidnap', she didn't blink an eyelid. Instead, she pronto started making plans of how to develop the kind of body with which she could carry off her new look in a dare bare attire.

"When Sanjay Gadhvi (director of 'Kidnap') came to me with the film, he was clear about one thing - he wanted to completely change my look and make me go through a transition. He asked me whether I was game for it but honestly, I didn't have any reason not to be a part of it."

Didn't she require any convincing whatsoever?

"Not at all", replies Minissha promptly, "We all know what he has done to his ladies in 'Dhoom' and 'Dhoom 2'. All his actresses have looked fabulous on screen whenever they have gone through an image transformation. He is fantastic at that and for me, it was just a matter of putting myself into the grind and completely focus on the change. It was a matter of going through the perception shift."

Her new look appears to be attracting quite some fan following for her.

"And I must say thanks to Sanjay for this", acknowledges Minissha, "Frankly, if not for him, it wouldn't have been an easy task to go through the entire emotional and physical grind. I had to push myself and do something which I myself never though I could. Thankfully, I did manage to pull it off and in the process even surprised myself. It was Sanjay's vision and I am glad that I followed it with conviction. Results are there to be seen."

'Kidnap' was earlier supposed to be released a couple of months back. Any regrets about the delay?

"It is not a big delay per se in any case", defends Minissha, "It is okay if a film comes two or three months after the planned date. It happens in the industry. I for sure know that this is the best time for the film to arrive. The promotion is going ahead with full vigor and I am excited about 2nd October, the D-day for the film's arrival."
