Rishi's desire to meet Konkona!

February 2nd, 2009

Rishi Kapoor had a whale of a time working on Zoya Akhtar's LUCK BY CHANCE and the accolades his performance as the loud and boisterous producer - Romy Roly is garnering is just the icing on the cake.

And while the actor - who will next be seen in Rakeysh OmPrakash Mehra's DELHI 6 - can't stop raving about the fun he had off screen and on screen, he reveals that he has only one regret - that he did not get to meet the talented Konkona SenSharma while on the sets. The actor said, ''It's a pity that I did not get to meet Konkona at all. I've seen her work and I think she's a brilliant actress. I was actually looking forward to meeting her, more so, since she will also be doing WAKE UP SID with Ranbir. It would have been interesting to catch up with her.'' When Konkona heard about this, the actress was extremely touched.

''It's a huge compliment coming from an actor of Mr. Kapoor's calibre. He's always been one of my favourite actors and I too was hoping to meet him,'' said Konkona. Well, with Ranbir and Konkona's film together due to begin soon, meeting Kapoor Sir should not be that difficult a task at all. Right Konkona?

Why Did Adnan Sami & wife Sabah fight?

February 2nd, 2009

Friday morning, Adnan Sami's wife Sabah lodged a police complaint against him accusing him of ill-treatment.

Trouble, says a close friend of Adnan, has been brewing for some time between Adnan and his wife, "It started after Adnan's reunion with son Azaan. When Sami's son (from his first wife, Zeba) arrived in Mumbai to spend Christmas with his father, Sabah left for her parents' home in Dubai. She felt insecure about the Azaan's presence in her husband's life. This, even though the singer accepted her son, Abdullah, from her earlier marriage."

Azaan, in fact took it upon himself to win his stepmother's love. Says the source, "Azaan accompanied Adnan for a concert in Dubai and there tried to win his stepmom over with flowers and chocolates. Sabah melted. But not for long."

The real trouble began when Sabah returned to Mumbai and Adnan's ailing father had to be hospitalised in Mumbai. Says the source, "Sabah felt neglected because Adnan was giving his father all his time. Apparently, when Adnan's father was hospitalised she refused to let his mother stay in their house and insisted she check into a hotel. Adnan was distraught. When his mother heard this, she said she's stay in the hospital with her husband."

I don’t want to do Bollywood anymore: Juhi Babbar

Juhi Babbar, the daughter of the legendary Raj Babbar speaks about her plays, her debut in Television and compromises she was told to make in the Bollywood Industry. She gets into a friendly chat with us, talking from the bottom of her heart.

You are a fashion designer by profession then why didn’t you take that as profession rather than opting for Bollywood and now television?
I am a fashion designer by qualification not by profession. Initially I started designing clothes for my theatre group and there I started getting small and then big roles and now television. This deviation is quite natural as the acting was in my blood.

Why tele-world and not more of Bollywood?
I was unsuccessful in cinema since I didn’t give it a chance to prove myself. After my debut film, I completely stopped doing cinema as the kind of roles and compromises I was offered were against my morals. I was shocked that they even I was told to compromise.

How come now you decided to make your debut in television?
Frankly, I never wanted to do television but it was obviously because of Shah Rukh Khan and Red Chillies Idiot Box that I said ‘yes’ to this show called ‘Ghar ki Baat Hai’.

Have you got some other offers on television too?
I got many offers prior to this show and now also I keep getting offers but I am seriously not interested to do the Saas-Bahu type of serials. I did this one because it was a comedy and I really liked my role in it.

‘Kash aap hamare hote’ was your debut film opposite Sonu Nigam. Unfortunately it did not work. Do you blame your acting or the script? What exactly went wrong?
I think it is all about your luck and not about script or acting. Many a time the worst of acting and script works. So I believe it is all about your sitaare (luck) and off course hard work too.

What about play ‘ekjute’? Will you continue doing plays?
I love doing plays and I think I can never leave it. It’s the place where one can show one’s real talent and potential. I got satisfaction from my work not by any other thing but by doing plays.

Are you the same shopoholic like your character in ‘Ghar Ki Baat Hai?
Yes, I am a shopoholic and I love shopping like every woman in this world does.

Amongst your two brothers Arya and Prateik which one is closer to you?
This is a very funny question. Both of them are dear to me and really close. The difference is that Arya is elder to me so he is more like a friend while Prateik being younger is like my child. We share a very sweet mother-son type of relationship, although he is my younger brother (laughs)

Your upcoming Bollywood projects?
No projects for me now. I don’t want to do Bollywood anymore. I think one was more than enough for me.

Neetu Chandra to don a two piece bikini

February 2nd, 2009

Someone is shedding all her inhibitions with a vengeance. If a hot-n-happening photo shoot for MAXIM a few weeks back wasn't good enough, Neetu Chandra has decided to walk an extra mile. She would now be donning a two piece bikini for popular film glossy STARDUST and is all set to entice her fans and followers all over again.

When contacted, Neetu was surprised that the news about the photo shoot had leaked. She said, ''How did you get to now about this; it was supposed to be a well guarded secret? I wanted people to know about it once the magazine hits the stands. I am not shying away from it; I just want people to explore the shoot by themselves and then tell me what they felt about it.''

Well, the cat is already out of the bag so it is difficult not to prod her further on the dare-bare shoot that she has done. ''Well, I wore a bikini in my very first film GARAM MASALA. Even for MAXIM I had posed in revealing outfits while ensuring that they don't look vulgar on me. I have kept the same thing in mind for the STARDUST shoot as well.''

Incidentally, Neetu Chandra has also been nominated as a Best Actress (under SEARCHLIGHT AWARDS category) by Stardust for her performance in OYE LUCKY LUCKY OYE. Her competitors are Preity Zinta (THE LAST LEAR), Sarika (HARI PUTTAR - A COMEDY OF ERRORS), Minissha Lamba (SHAURYA), Soha Ali Khan (MUMBAI MERI JAAN) and Amrita Rao (WELCOME TO SAJJANPUR). While she waits with bated breath for the winner's name to be announced, she would also be seen in a dance performance for the awards function that would be taking place later this month.

''Yeah, I will be performing to some Western dance numbers, that's all that I can reveal for now'', informs Neetu.

Kangana claims to be non-vulgar

In all her movies she has exposed and stripped with no inhibitions. From ‘Gangster’, ‘Woh Lamhe’, ‘Metro’, ‘Fashion’ to her latest ‘Raaz’, Kangana has effortlessly done that.

So it’s but natural if people think that Kangana wishes to flaunt a blatant sexy image. But the dame begs to differ.

She’s been saying, “Even though I have worn fewer clothes, I don’t think I look vulgar. I am a very sexless person. I have never tried to create a sexy image of myself. From the very first day, I have been clear about my objectives. I am an actress and I am here to do my job.”

So basically she means to say that though she sheds her clothes, she doesn’t compromise with her acting.

That’s not the only thing that Kangana denies. She says that there are no differences between her and her boyfriend Adhyayan’s dad Shekhar Suman.

She’s said, “Nothing serious happened on that particular day and the media has just spiced up the entire issue. The argument took place between Shekhar and Mohit and the media had unnecessarily drag her name to make the news spicier.”

Kangana sure knows how to be a part of controversies and spice up her life. She’s already done a good job of it. No wonder she’s survived so well in B-Town.

“Yeh Andar Ki Baat Hai” of Monica Bedi

Wondering why we are talking about the inner and outer sides of Monica Bedi. People who are thinking about her nature as how she is as a person by heart and stuffs can start thinking a little naughty and wicked too.

At Bablu Aziz’s birthday bash at CafĂ© Mocha at Juhu, we caught Monica. She was looking cute in white pants and black top paired with leopard print jacket. You must be thinking what is so exciting about that. Read more to find out..

So here’s the twist, if one looks closely at what Monica is wearing he/she will get the opportunity of witnessing her inner soul. For people who are still scratching their heads we would like to inform them that Monica is very particular about her inner and outer wears (which can quite visible in the picture provided). Post Big Boss 2 people are looking up to her.

Obviously we aren’t saying that Monica is wrong on her part, obviously skin show is a part and parcel of this glamor Industry instead we appreciate that she is choosy about her clothes as well as her…

Celebs are known for their style statement and indeed Monica is living up to its expectation.

I hope Monica doesn’t complain by saying, “Yeh Andar Ki Baat Hai”

Govinda gets serious after forty

It seems our Bollywood actors are getting better and bolder after the age of forty. There’s no doubt that Chichi has become bold and better. Govinda has improved, be it his body or his attitude towards work he has changed a lot professionally. Known for his starry tantrums on the set, Govinda proved his critics wrong.

We heard Govinda who used to keep his costars waiting by coming late on the set surprised everyone by his punctuality. Apparently after the success of his last hit Partner Govinda has taken his career seriously. We heard Govinda has been putting in 15 hours nonstop to complete the shoot of Naughty Att Forty.

When we spoke to the producer Aanuj Sharma he couldn’t stop talking about Chichi’s professional attitude towards his work. Well, with this kind of grit and hard work, Naughty At Forty would definitely bring Govinda good results. And now we wonder if all those stories of him coming to sets four hours late are really true or if he has turned into a new leaf.

Katrina Kaif denies doing Ajay Devgan’s home production

Recently a famous Mumbai tabloid had broke out the news that Katrina Kaif had agreed to be part of director Rohit Shetty’s next film to be produced by Shetty’s good friend and actor Ajay Devgan. Given the fact that Shetty has directed comedies like Golmaal, Sunday and Golmaal Returns, it was a forgone conclusion that his film for Devgan’s production house would also be a comedy.

Apparently, Devgan thought of roping in Katrina after he and Salman Khan bonded like thick buddies on the sets of London Dreams. Unit-members had revealed that the stars who had earlier done a film like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam but unfortunately had not many scenes together, but on the sets of London Dreams the two actors developed a great rapport between them. It was during this time that Ajay Devgan expressed his wish to Salman Khan to cast Katrina in his next home production.

Director Rohit Shetty’s last venture Golmaal Returns was a big hit and Katrina has been a hit in comedy ventures with Akshay Kumar. So it was the apt choice. But now Katrina has had to let go of the film.

Reasons cited were her busy schedule. According to Katrina’s spokesperson, due to lack of dates and her tight schedule, unfortunately, she won’t be part of the project. Her spokesperson clarifies, “It is unfortunate but Katrina will not be able to do the project, she’s tied up with her other commitments and dates were a big hassle. Hence she will not be doing Rohit Shetty’s film”.

Sanjay Dutt, Bipasha starrer Lamha wraps shoot, release post June

February 2nd, 2009

Mumbai: The shooting of producer Bunty Walia's home production, Lamha directed by Rahul Dholakia is finally complete. The film stars Sanjay Dutt, Bipasha Basu and Kunal Kapoor in the lead roles.

Lamha is a thriller story set in the terrorism of Kashmir. Close to 40 percent of the film has been shot in Kashmir and it was recently in the news for the flack received by locals there which agitated actress Bipasha Basu leading to rumors of she backing out of the film. But contrary to all reports, the film's shooting is now complete.

Walia says, "Lamha's shooting is complete and we are currently working on its editing and post production. I am looking at releasing the film in June- July. But before that in mid-March I will launch a coffee table book, and that is when I will be looking at selling the film's rights to distributors."

The film has been made on a budget of Rs 25- 30 crore and Walia says he is looking at selling the rights for approximately Rs 35 crore. "I want the film to be a hit and I want everyone to make money. There is no point selling it at a high price in such volatile market conditions."

Nayantara evades troubled waters

February 2nd, 2009

Nayantara is a big name in both Telugu and Tamil film industries. She made it to the top in a short span of time and her bikini act in Billa catapulted her to the top. Though there is a good demand in Telugu films, Nayantara has thrown her weight towards Tamil films for the past some time. She had become familiar with the Telugu audiences with her films like Chandramukhi, Ghajini, Lakshmi, Boss, Yogi, Dubai Sreenu and Tulasi. She became one of the top heroines in Telugu in no time. She soon earned the name for having glamour besides good acting talents.

Nayantara cashed in on the demand and craze for her and hiked her remuneration to one crore. But unfortunately for Nayantara her subsequent films bombed at the box office. As such her demand has came down. The producers and directors were also miffed with the rate quoted by her and she now does not have too many films in hand. Nayan is now seriously considering to bring down her remuneration.

After having acted opposite Venkatesh in Tulasi in 2007, she came before the Telugu audiences with Salute last year. After a long gap, she has signed a film opposite NT Ramarao, for a film to be directed by VV Vinayak. Though Ileana was considered for the role in the beginning, she could not adjust the call sheets as she had already committed four other films. This has made the producer to knock at Nayantara's door. There are high expectations regarding this film which is to be produced by Vallabhaneni Vamsimohan.

Katrina gets serious for 'Rajniti'

February 1st, 2009

After playing the glamorous heroine at least a hundred times during her rise to fame, Katrina Kaif is hoping that 2009 will change her image. By accepting roles in New York, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and Rajniti, Katrina has taken on meatier characters which will hopefully allow her to prove herself as an actress, not a Barbie doll.

In Prakash Jha's Rajniti, Katrina is completely letting go of her glamorous image in order to effectively carry off her role.

"My role in Rajniti has different shades - I start off as a particular way and end up as a completely changed persona. The character is immensely challenging and it is a huge responsibility to carry off such a character," she told Mumbai Mirror.

The director himself has taken such a keen interest in her characterization that Katrina claims he is even choosing fabrics for her character to wear. She is also undergoing voice modulation since she is required to speak a certain way towards the end of the film.

In this political drama which also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Ajay Devgan amongst others, let's hope Katrina Kaif can hold her own.
